I love my job, really I do. The new store manager is pretty cool and there is very little stress. I have met some pretty cool people from St. Thomas, Thomas Browne, and Charles Carr. These two guys are my mentors and my lifeline when I need help.
I had another training class in Peurto Rico left Wednesday and came back last night. This is very interesting as the presentation on the board was bullet points about the meeting, in English. Fine so far. Now, Carlos gets up to begin the meeting and is speaking in Spanish, no English translator. Charles, (not at this meeting) Thomas and I do not understand Spanish. This meeting went on like this for several presentations, when the Regional Manager realized our frustration, and lack of interest, (the indicator could have been texting on our cell phones to each other and anyone who understood English!) and put a bi-lingual person between us in case we had questions! MY QUESTION IS, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE. I UNDERSTAND NO SPANISH. Except Uno Mos Cervasa porfavor, spelling questionable and I had not heard anything close to this at this point. This went on from 8am to 5pm. After the meeting I went to my store manager who is kind of bi-lingual and vented, very clearly. He got on the phone to his DM. The next day was better, we DID have people who could actually talk to us. And I Learned something. Hmm, here I am causing trouble again.
We get to do scuba diving today after many weeks of crappy weather, work or crappy funds! We are going out with N2 the Blue! So excited...will post pictures if they turn out.
Will update soon. Happy Weekend!
