I write this for the people who read it, but, at the same time, I read it from time to time and see the different parts of our life, and experience of the island that has changed us.
Well, where to start? The Kmart chapter of my life is now over, and I have no regrets. It got us through some tough times and I am greatful. However, what a bunch of losers~LOL! And I am so happy to be out of there.
Mark has gotten a new job and found out he will be promoted soon :O) So much he deserves and I hope this is what makes him happy at his job.
I have found a new attitude and am happy to say, it is working for me. For now. Which as you all know I change from day to day! I don't need or desire to be a manager, do the corporate thing anymore. I am happy right now working as a waitress making people happy. I don't get yelled at, the standard is pretty much set and the people go away happy for the most part. I am happy dong this on the island. I don't have to focus on the negative part of island living, the poverty, the difference in values and entitlement. I found it makes me happier to be around, and Mark is trying to deal with the new me! LOL "What's wrong?" "Are you okay?" "Are you feeling well?" Why? Because I am happy and content..........I am not bitchy all the time, and I am finally at peace with being here and happy.......WOW!
Simple things like floating on a noodle in the ocean with Mark, cold beer and friends makes me happy. Watching the sunset with Mark makes me happy. Sitting in the gazebo, having a cocktail talking about "stuff" makes me happy. Living in a tiny place with Mark, where I can run the a/c 24/7 for less the $120 a month, makes me happy!
Thougt for everyone, appreciate the moments that matter, the little things that make you comfortable (a/c) not the space that you have that you don't use, the junk that you collect and don't need! The memories and experience is what we take with us everyday.........
For now, "life is good today!"

Wow, so much to say, so little words!
It has been a month since the last post. Things are going better, at least here. The spanish thing I haven't got, but otherwise we are doing fine.
It has taken me 41/2 months to finally be almost accepted at work. The receiving lead has a shovel by the bay door for me. He jokes about if I say one more word about his backbelt he will use the shovel, dig a hole, toss me in, and throw the backbelt on top of me. Sell the shovel to someone he doesn't like and he won't have to wear the damn thing anymore. Wow, I hope he is kidding! He does say it with a smile!
Seriously, I have been thinking so hard about how we can move back to Florida. But, I then realize that it is BP that I miss and not Florida. BP was "MY JOB" and I was good at it. I am now doing something so different in such a different place. I won't ever get back the BP security. And still, here we are.
I am taking a whole new prospective of the island living! I am gonna try like hell to not hold the island and the company I work for responsible for me being here. Sometimes it sucks, but, I made the choice.
I will let you know how that works out for me!
Hope you all are doing well!

Hello from the island!
I love my job, really I do. The new store manager is pretty cool and there is very little stress. I have met some pretty cool people from St. Thomas, Thomas Browne, and Charles Carr. These two guys are my mentors and my lifeline when I need help.
I had another training class in Peurto Rico left Wednesday and came back last night. This is very interesting as the presentation on the board was bullet points about the meeting, in English. Fine so far. Now, Carlos gets up to begin the meeting and is speaking in Spanish, no English translator. Charles, (not at this meeting) Thomas and I do not understand Spanish. This meeting went on like this for several presentations, when the Regional Manager realized our frustration, and lack of interest, (the indicator could have been texting on our cell phones to each other and anyone who understood English!) and put a bi-lingual person between us in case we had questions! MY QUESTION IS, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE. I UNDERSTAND NO SPANISH. Except Uno Mos Cervasa porfavor, spelling questionable and I had not heard anything close to this at this point. This went on from 8am to 5pm. After the meeting I went to my store manager who is kind of bi-lingual and vented, very clearly. He got on the phone to his DM. The next day was better, we DID have people who could actually talk to us. And I Learned something. Hmm, here I am causing trouble again.
We get to do scuba diving today after many weeks of crappy weather, work or crappy funds! We are going out with N2 the Blue! So excited...will post pictures if they turn out.
Will update soon. Happy Weekend!
